Dorimanx-ROM-HIGH-END 2.7.6 – part 2

August 24, 2011

Today we will continue the Dorimanx-ROM-HIGH-END 2.7.6 review (Previous review here). Good news is that I’m still using it.

Better news is that I am liking it, and it feels smooth and fluid. However, will it deserves my star award? Will I accept it to be my partner for this whole week? Only time will tell.. let’s have a look at more reviews of Dorimanx 2.7.6 ROM, the dialer, strange RAM management,  storage, keyboard, messaging, and a whole lot more to be uncovered …

Save downloaded apps / games from Market

August 23, 2011

So you found a nice application or games from Android Market and you went ahead and download it to your device. A couple of days later, something happened and you lost all of your apps and games. Just when you thought of getting those apps from Market, you found out that your internet doesn’t work…

If only you had saved them locally…

But wait, you CAN! Spoiler : it’s for rooted users only 🙂

If you know how to navigate to files and folders, this would be a piece of cake.

ROM Review – Dorimanx-ROM-HIGH-END 2.7.6

August 22, 2011

At time of writing, there’s already a newer version out – however, as many (including myself) experienced lots of issues with version 2.7.7 so I have been recommended by XDA member Bologna to try version 2.7.6 instead for my review.

I admit that my previous ROM reviews were unorganized and scattered all over.. I mean, I write for fun – and I actually blog for myself really – because I have problems remembering things. However, when I put something down – I have great memory on where to FIND things and their source. So that is why I started blogging – so when I can’t remember something, I remember where to find for them – at my blog!

And this week thanks goes to : dorimanx
If you wish to donate to this developer, you can do so via paypal.

Hopefully this review will be better and more organized than my previous reviews, although comments are welcomed and I always take it as positive feedback – listening is important, as you will never learn if you don’t!

Control your Android phone from PC

August 21, 2011

As I am a temporary nomad and still moving from here to there, finding a place where I can eventually call home… I use my phone data plan and tether it with my PC to access the internet.

Unfortunately at the place where I live, reception is very bad and sometimes I can’t even get a signal inside my bedroom. So I had to leave the phone outside where the reception is better, and tether it via wifi so I can surf the internet from my bedroom. However, I was very annoyed when I had to walk out everytime I got an SMS, or when I had to check if the phone was heating up too much.

Until I found this great application which solves the issue …

Disconnect to Connect

August 20, 2011

It is the era of cloud computing. It is a time where we are surrounded by technologies, by great all-in-one gadgets, with multiple connectivity options which was just a dream back in the old days. However, some say they just ‘can’t live without it‘.. but do you know when you over do it? I dedicate this video to you and myself especially so we may realize what we have been missing all these while…

Time to put turn those computers off, put those gadgets down, and be with your loved ones. Make a change, do it now.

Unprison the Internet!

August 18, 2011

There had been so much blocking activities these days, on censoring the internet. China has em, Malaysia has em, and it’s not going away so soon isn’t it? (Or did they just threw the keys off?)  I have previously covered Access blocked sites with your Android before, however we won’t be sure how long before some idiot come and block the hole on this one.

There’s a new system developed by University of Michigan and Waterloo in Canada, called Telex which quoted “would thwart Internet censorship and make it virtually impossible for a censoring government to block individual sites by essentially turning the entire web into a proxy server

Heck I don’t know much about computers and networks.. but proxy? I mean, proxies can be blocked too right?

Here’s a little more jargons for you guys to digest – “When a user wanted to visit a blacklisted site, they would establish a secure connection to any HTTPS password-protected website that isn’t blocked. This connection acts as a decoy and the Telex software marks it as a Telex request by inserting a secret-coded tag into the page headers. This tag utilizes a cryptographic technique called “public-key steganography.”

Sounds like some serious hacker thing, but I agree that the internet shouldn’t be censored. Of course, censorship, blocks, and filtration is necessary for companies to make sure that they don’t get blamed for employees misconduct, but hey, talking about censoring the internet to the entire country. That is just lame… <credit goes HERE and HERE>

Ok, tunnel on, VPN up, mask set, bounce active.. let’s roll!

Flying RC planes and heli are the thing of the past!

August 17, 2011

OK OK that may sound a bit too harsh as the thing which I’m going to tell about today is un-compared to a flying RC planes and helicopters.. Because, they are.. a bit.. well.. different..

So what’s Nemo doing here? Um.. yeah, it’s a flying clownfish. No, I’m literally saying that it’s a flying RC clownfish. In the air! I tell ya, it’s cute. Stumbled across this a few days ago, and thought I’d share it with you guys / gals out there. Check out the video inside – I’m thinking of getting one for my son as well!

0% Maintenance tyres

August 16, 2011

The time has nearly will eventually comes where we no longer need to go and pump air into our tyres (no I’m not UK, you may spell it as tires if you want). And I’m not talking about those tyres which have no air inside…

The guys at Goodyear is working hard to develop a new technology called the ‘Air Maintenance Technology‘ (AMT) which equip tyres with small air pumps which will self regulate the air, thus eliminating the need for you to refill these tyres with air – because it will do so by itself!

Oh boy, just imagine how much this is gonna cost ya..

I personally think that it’s going to be a long wait before it’s going to be available for private consumers like us. In the mean time, get your kpi / psi right, because no matter how good your car is.. It is your tyres that will keep it stick to the ground.
