As we are in the holy month of Ramadhan, let’s take this opportunity to do as much good deeds as we can. Whether to ourselves, our families, our friends, or to strangers, for Allah’s blessings.
I recommend the iQuran application for my fellow brothers and sisters. There are a few versions of digital Quran (free) available in the Android Market. I have tried a few, but still the best ‘free’ version of all is still the iQuran. And here’s why…
Some other version does not have audio nor translation of the Quran.
And while some DO have audio, unfortunately after hearing a few surah’s, you will be prompted to buy the full version in order to unlock the rest of the recitation. Whilst iQuran let you download the FULL QURAN recitation for free.
By buying the full version (iQuran Pro) will unlock different reciter to download, and also unlock different translation languages. However, the free version is sufficient for those who know English and those which can read Arabics. Downloading audio or translation is quick via a decent internet connection and the audio files are stored in /sdcard/iQuran/audio/ so before you hard reset or format your sdcard, make sure that you save this folder as it would take a whole load of time to re-download all that audio again.
The full complete audio will take roughly 748MB on your sdcard (so make sure you have sufficient space to download!). The free version will let you download a maximum of 30 surah a day. I had some issues in downloading several surah’s but just keep trying and you will be able to eventually. I may post the .zip version of the audio here should there be enough request for one (and if allowed by the developers).
Download iQuran by doing a search for “iQuran” on Market or by clicking > HERE < Happy fasting.
